Technology

“Safencap” is the name of a microencapsulation technology that uses interfacial polymerization to produce microcapsules with walls composed of poly-beta Amino-ester or PBAE

PBAE biodegradable microcapsules are small spherical structures composed of biodegradable polymers which are capable of degrading naturally in the environment. They are used to encapsulate various active substances. The degradation of PBAEs can be triggered by specific conditions, making them useful for the controlled release of their contents. In addition to pH and bacteria, other stimuli can be used to trigger the biodegradability of PBAE microcapsules. For example, temperature, the concentration of metal ions, the presence of specific enzymes, or even changes in pressure can be engineered as triggers. The design of PBAE microcapsules can be adapted to respond to various stimuli, depending on the needs of the application.

The Safencap technology is highly configurable with considerable depth of engineering and trade secrets for efficiently and accurately designing a wide range of accurate release triggers.
